Five dollar wreath

I didn't have a Halloween wreath so I looked around and noticed that feather wreaths were really popular but really expensive.  So I looked for a cheap alternative.

I went to the dollar tree to see what that had available and I found a pine wreath, it was pretty thin and sparse so I figured it would work.  I also found some spider ribbon with wire.

Then I went to the Dollar General and found some black boa's for $1.00 each.  I purchased three for this project.

I took the wreath and pushed the pine needles down real good so that it would not pop through the feathers.  Then I took my boa's and wrapped them around the wreath hot gluing it a little here and there.  I made a bow out of my spider ribbon and attached a spider ring to it.

It turned out pretty nice and after Halloween I will do some clearance shopping and hopefully I will find some extra's to add to it.

This is what the wreath started off as.

you can see some of the green in the picture but it really isn't that noticeable .

And here it is hung on my door.

Not too bad for five dollars.

I found the" Enter if you dare" wall art at Michaels and it was  only $3.00  plus  my 40% off  coupon.  The  black jute is from Dollar General and it was only $1.00.

I think it turned out pretty spooky!

My goodwill find

Well this is my first blog.  I wanted to blog about my goodwill finds.

We decided to have a Halloween party and I really had no decorations.  So off to the goodwill I went.  I found a candelabra for $2.00 it was gold and kinda dated.  So I thought I could spray paint it black add some crystals and tapered candles.  So I cleaned it up scraped all the candle wax off of it and tah dah!

I think it turned out beautiful and was well worth $2.00.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the process but it was really easy I just bought some black gloss spray paint and sprayed it all over.  Let it try for a couple of days before adding all the crystals.  I used a combination of crystals.  I got some from my daughter that came from a chandelier and some store bought crystals from Michaels that we used for her wedding.

I will have some more Halloween post coming.
